Kids & Family Taekwon-do

At 88 Dragons the family class is the one of the most popular. This program is a unique way for parents to spend quality time with their children. Instead of sitting and waiting 60 minutes while your child exercises, you can get fit and have fun too! It is mandatory for one parent to attend class if their kid is age 6 or younger. Kids and parents may attend any of the scheduled children's martial arts classes 2-3 times per week. Parents are also welcome to attend adult classes, but kids are only allowed to attend children's classes.

Your kids will increase their cardiovascular health, become stronger and more flexible. Their gross motor skills will see improvement as well as their speed and agility. Through our vigorous training exercises children in our Korean karate classes tend to excel in other sports. However, your children will learn more than just fitness; they will also learn essential life skills such as responsibility, leadership, compassion, social interaction and determination. Your children will be taught how to protect themselves from strangers as well as bullies. They will also constantly be reminded of the responsible use of their self defense skills and to never use their martial arts outside of their lessons unless they are under serious physical threat.

Children who attend our martial arts lessons tend to be better behaved and respectful. They also are more likely to see improvements in their grades at school! Because our programs are goal orientated, your children will be more inclined to set higher goals later in life. We believe in your kids and teach them to never underestimate themselves. Success in life is highly determined by one's confidence and self esteem. Our kid's martial arts program is designed to encourage children to believe in themselves and to strive to fulfill their full potential.

Although we set firm boundaries, we also like kids to have fun and enjoy each class. Parents appreciate the balance we have struck between discipline and fun. Lessons are well structured and expectations are made clear.
